New stuff!

Aries version of the necklace I made my mom for her birthday.

Mae's request.
Scorpio, Black, no heart... sorry! I tried!

Sammie mentioned something like this.
Wanted to see if it would work out.
$10 if you're interested =).

I tried it with a charm. I personally like it without one.
$14 with a charm if you're interested =).

I probably shoulda used a smaller jump ring.
I think I'll try that.

A lot of my friends have been asking for red & black stuff.
I came up with this, the bail's werent as epic as I thought they would be.
The red crystal isnt as dark as I wanted it to be.
But it still looks pretty bad ass!

I just wanted to post this because I accidently bokeh'd!!
I'm so happy & proud of myself!! =D
Without a dSLR!! =)

Oh if you're interested this necklace is $30.

I cant get over how pretty this crystal is! Seriously!!
Sorry Audrey I'm taking a million pics of your necklace lol!

  • Sammie's Wicked necklace
  • Dad's birthday keychain

Remember how I mentioned that I was waiting on a shipment? Well, I got it yesterday. And I was pretty bummed out. It turns out everything I ordered was accidentally ordered as 4MM instead of 6MM. How the hell did I manage to get that mixed up?! I'm so sad. Now all the other projects I was waiting to do will have to wait. I did email the company last night (only to find that I emailed the wrong address so I technically emailed them this morning) to see if I could exchange them. I hope they let me, or I could just reorder the whole thing... but wtf am I gonna do with 4MM beads?!

I went to a bead store in my area yesterday and they had a nice selection of biocones. They also had this really really really really pretty leaf chain I wanted (how can metal feel so SOFT?!) but it was $19.50/foot. Boyfriend didnt even give it a second chance lol. The biocones were $.50/each! For 6MM! My boyfriend was like "no... that's too much. Maybe they mean like... for a certain amount" and they had baggies on the side and there was a 4MM baggie for like $23 for like 20 and he was like "or not, we gotta go, this place aint for us" and pulled me out of the store hahahahah!

So as you can see, I crossed off 3 projects on my list. I should cross off my dad's keychain since a biocone fell out and all I have to do is put it back on, but I'm lazy. In fact, I'm scaring at the biocone thats about 3 inches away from the finished keychain. I know, hellur lazy right?

K gonna go edit the pictures for the new stuff done and post 'em!

Current projects.

  • Mae's necklace
  • Star bracelet
  • Red & Black
  • Fall necklaces
  • Sammie's Wicked necklace
  • Dad's birthday keychain
I've got a few things gathered for a few fall themed idea's (not as many as I'd like though considering I'm broke!) and I'm pretty excited to put those together. I have two small projects for me that I have in mind. Excited to show those to you guys too!

I'm waiting on a shipment of biocones lol. I recently (as in 2 days ago) figured out how to wire wrap! I need to practice a bunch more since its good (better -- WAYYY better than my first attempt) but its not perfect. Is there a secret to making "the perfect loop"? Cause I find that once I do make a decent loop, the rest from there is pretty easy. Hmph.

If you guys are interested in any of my stuff, let me know =). And feel free to make requests! I'm always up for a request! Trying to figure out what kind of style I like best, and as always with doing that, its taking some time.

For Audrey.

My bestie has a weird sense of style. By weird I mean, something I wouldnt wear/put together/think of. So we were talking one day and she mentioned how cool it would be to make a necklace out of like fishing wire so you dont see the chain and it would look like the pendent would be "floating" on you. I thought that was kinda weird and might be uncomfortable (but it might just be me, I dont like wearing jewelry for long periods of time, especially necklaces, I have a habit of moving them around a lot). So I came up with a solution to that.

Aquamarine Starfish Swarovski crystal + star chain + star toggle.

I did the fishing wire/beading wire necklace part (I know its not really made to hold a necklace so hopefully she doesnt tug on this!!) then I put a star chain on the area that's suppose to behind your neck for more comfort and of course with my OCD, I just had to finish it with a star toggle.

Taking pictures of this was hard since its on a clear wire and it doesnt show up well. But here's what the whole thing looks like, again, I know the wire is hard to see. I was hoping the dark colors of the book cover would help... but, nope.

And just because I like taking pictures of things. I cant get over how pretty this crystal is!

If you're interested in one of those, please do let me know. You're free to change the color and shape of the crystal as well =).

Idea's.

So I'm stumped on what to make next! I know I'm in the process of figuring out what kind of keychain (Martin felt that a cell phone charm would be too girly for him, pfft) to make my dad. And I'm also in the process of making a necklace (of which I'm waiting on the products to be shipped to me) as well as a necklace I'm calling "For Audrey" since my best friend's name is Audrey and well... it was her idea! I just took it and twisted it and of course, made it! I hope she likes it!

I'm trying to come up with a few things for Fall, esp since Fall is my favorite season!

Other than trying to come up with idea's, I'm on the search for a better quality chain. The one I use now is good cause it comes with a lobster clasp but... I dont know, I just hate the way it feels. And its a bit hard to find chain since there isnt many bead stores in my area. Oh poop.

So yes...
  • Searching for a better chain
  • Fall idea's
I hope I make some stuff before Fall ends! I'd actually be bummed if I didnt lol.

Mom's birthday gift.

I wanted to do this for Mother's Day, but for some odd reason... I didnt. So I decided to do this for her birthday. I wanted to make her a necklace. I didnt really know what I wanted to make her around Mother's Day so I'm glad I held off on it until her birthday, I came up with this idea a few weeks before.

Leo charm + Peridot Butterfly Swarovski crystal.

This is the first necklace I ever made and it was a pretty fun process, it was really relaxing. The most difficulty I had with this was finding a bail big enough for the butterfly crystal. I broke about two smaller bails trying to figure it out lol. Good thing Martin found me this cute little set that had a bunch of different sizes!

Leo & star charm + Blue Flower Swarovski crystal.

This was also for my mom. This is the very first thing I ever made with Swarovski's. But I ended up giving it to her early cause I was just so excited about it lol. Its a cell phone charm!

I also made myself a similar necklace to the one I made her but I havent taken pictures of it yet. I have another necklace I plan on making (once my supplies get here) and another necklace in progress that my bestie had an idea for. If I end up satisfied with either one, I might just include them in a giveaway on my beauty blog.

Hello =]

So I was against making a crafting blog since I dont really have much to say and I havent really made much just yet... but I figured, why not? I could write about my struggles with taking up crafts!

Those of you who read my personal blog, probably have already heard this.

When I was younger, I always wanted to be crafty and I just... failed. At anything and everything having to do with art or crafts or anything. I remember spending weeks on making my own slippers with fabric. And I had glitters and stuff on it, but they fell apart =(. I remember trying to make bead necklaces and t-shirts and all sorts of things! I remember trying to draw and even now, til this day, I suck at drawing. I started graphic designing and its... eh, it could be a lot better. But then again, we always judge ourselves harshly, right?

Truth is, I'm not an artist. Not even a little bit. I'm a writer. Writing is my passion, my talent. But I dont want it to end just there. I always have this intense drive to be creative, even if I suck at it. And even though I come up with these great idea's in my head, its hard to get them out looking like what I see in my head.

My boyfriend says that I jump forward to fast. I tend to skip the learning process and I want to get straight into the pro status. And I need to slow down, I need to start from step 1 instead of step finished. True, I'm impatient but maybe he's on to something! lol.

So I figure, why not write about my struggles as well. Maybe some day I can look back at this blog and think wow, did I suck that bad at one point? Man, that was a great learning experience.

So, welcome to my crafts blog you guys. I'm not going to promise that it'll be update as much or as often as my personal or my beauty blog, but it will be here when I need to curse and scream and wonder and plot. And to share my creations with you. They wont be extreme or amazing but please, be friendly about it =] haha.
